Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010)

Most of us have seen the classics. The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Citizen Kane, it’s not often that a movie is released that will be remembered for as a masterpiece of film making. However, on February 27, 2010 everything changed with a movie that is, quite possibly, the worst movie ever made. No, I’m not kidding. This movie is the most broken, horrible, story-less, garbage I have ever seen. The acting was a nightmare, the production design non-existent, and the writing abysmal. I don’t know how over 50 people got together and said, “Hey, making this movie is a good idea and something we should invest time and money into.” I can’t emphasize enough how bad this movie is. Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty and see just why this movie is the worst thing ever.

Look at that image above. Look at it. That is an unedited scene from the movie. This is the level of professionalism that we are dealing with here. Never mind that, let’s talk about the actual content of the movie. Starting off, there is 3 and a half minutes credits which leads into about 30 minutes of going through the main character’s day (played by Alan Bagh). Really. Its just this guys day, nothing more. He goes to a restaurant, goes to the gas station, and goes to work. Nothing interesting, nothing excited, just a guy going through his day. Oh, and did I mention that he is the worst actor of all time. I honestly think if they had cast anyone else, ANYONE, it would’ve been a better movie. He is just the worst thing ever. Then once the birds show up, it doesn’t get any better. They couldn’t have done a worse job with the CGI birds. I won’t give anymore away because, despite it being disgustingly bad, I think that you should watch it.

Yes, that’s right, you should watch this movie. This horrible excuse for a movie is one that you should see. Something about this trash makes it lovable in its own twisted way. By the end of the movie you have fallen in love with this atrocity. I honestly think that everyone who can, should watch this movie. James Nguyen has created his own kind of classic movie. A movie that is so bad, that it will be remembered for a long time.

The CGI birds look amazing! It looks better than most movies today, better than The Hobbit…. All jokes aside, the movie looks terrible. Do you know how money it made? How much it money they spent just to produce it?

I couldn’t find how much money that it made, but it had a budget of about $10,000. However, the producers spent much more on marketing and purchasing the film rights.
